Next November will be a month very busy of cultural events, making more pleasant and interesting the Roman stays of all tourists and citizens, and confirming once again Rome as city of Culture and Art.
From 12 October to 29 November 2008, the Capital will be the venue of a marvellous and special event, the VII Edition of The International Festival of Sacred Music and Art which will offer a huge amount of music in the heart of the Eternal City. Giovanni Basilica, San Paolo Basilica, Papal Academic Hall of Sacred Music, Sant’Agostino Basilica, S. Ignazio Basilica and Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, in area close to the Vatican City.
The main aim of the event is to promote the essence of Sacred Music, seen as important means to deliver the culture and the talent of a huge amount of choirs from all over the world.
The Association “Friends of Sacred Music” counts in Rome more than 3000 attendants and organized the project in 1996 to help the delivery of Sacred Music, making the international choirs play in the most beautiful and famous cathedrals of Italy, especially in The Eternal City. On the other hand, for all the lovers of the Art “on stage”, from 1 to 20 November 2008, the wonderful Sala Uno Theatre, in San Giovanni Square area, proposes “Eduardo ‘900” which will offer a portrait of the famous Italian artist and his amazing comedies. The whole bitter sweet taste of the dramas by Eduardo De Filippo is one of the most important characteristic of the exhibition which, thanks to a young company of actors, will give the public a whole review of the marvellous world of the artist.
The theme of the show will be represented not just by the comedies but also by all their characters, accompanied by meaningful dance and music. The aim of “Eduardo ‘900” is to point out the real nature of the writer behind some parts of his dramas, leaving also space to the poems by Eduardo De Filippo still unknown to the public.
